Rukmini is a Conflict Resolution Specialist who takes pride in initiating peace-building measures and touching the deep aspects of human potential.

Rukmini Iyer is a Mumbai-based entrepreneur who has spent brief stints in Thailand and Singapore. Her parents belong to Kerala, but most of her time has been spent in Mumbai.

Rukmini is the founder and director of a consulting firm called Exult! Solutions. Her company works in the areas of leadership, organizational development, and peacebuilding.

Recalling her childhood, Rukmini says she grew up in an environment of domestic violence and abuse that made her question the meaning of world peace, and propelled her to start off her journey as a Conflict Resolution Specialist. Her interest in subjects such as psychology and leadership pushed her to pursue a career in this field.

Over the last 21 years, Rukmini has worked across the globe with corporate organizations, the development sector, communities, and individuals through the modalities of consulting, facilitation, coaching, and dialogue. Rukmini says, before founding Exult Solutions she used to work with a business school in Singapore, teaching and leading training and development for students. However, her interest in working in the peacebuilding sphere brought her back to India.

Talking about her challenges, Rukmini says that it took her time to explain her business model to her corporate clients and arouse their interest in the social and political sphere. Later on, Rukmini faced the challenge of making her venture financially sustainable. She adds that people’s engagement was another challenge she encountered, especially when it came to hard conflicts.

Sharing her COVID time experience, Rukmini says that the pandemic gave us an opportunity to pause and re-evaluate what we are doing as humanity.

When asked about her role models, Rukmini says that she draws her inspiration from Dr. Rabindranath Tagore, who managed to see the beauty in life and put that out to the world.

If Rukmini were to choose between education and experience, she would choose the latter. Rukmini believes that it is only the learners who can thrive, which comes through experience.

For anyone willing to enter the leadership and organizational development space, Rukmini says that the idea of continuous self-reflection is very important in this field.

Rukmini advises the youth to mindfully develop their own resilience, which implies the ability to bounce back, no matter how challenging times get. She says that all entrepreneurs should take time to recharge themselves, rejuvenate, and come back to life.

Besides her professional life, Rukmini is a nature lover and an avid reader.
